Evelyn Underhill (1875-1941) was the first woman to lecture to the clergy in the Church of England and was one of the foremost 20th century Christian mystics.
The author of several books on spirituality, her work ‘Practical Mysticism’ is subtitled ‘A Little Book for Normal People’. Her writings are as relevant today as they were for her First World War generation.
Bishop Jan will be talking about the life of Evelyn Underhill and there is an optional workshop in the afternoon from 1.15 pm, concluding at 2.30 pm to discuss and explore the morning’s themes.
