Using Find a Church

Find a Church is a powerful tool, covering congregations and other organisations throughout Derbyshire. It is very easy to use, and you can search by name, address, post code, service times, denomination, web site, and type of organisation.

Quick Search

There are three types of quick search:

Congregation Post Code/Area
Simply select the area you are interested in and click search
Congregation Name
Know the name of the church you are after? Type it in here

Simply type in as many or few of the search criteria as you want. The more you type, the fewer results you will return. (Please note there is a maximum of 30 results returned per search).

Examples

Example 1: A church in the DE1 post code area, that has a Sunday evening service.

Fill in the 'Post Code' and 'Service Times' boxes and leave the rest blank. This will return services starting between 6:00pm and 7:59pm (no guarantee on how long they will last!):

Example 2: Look for Methodist church web sites.

Select the denomination and check the Web Site box:

Use the notes on the form for extra hints on each field.

A word on Saint Dedications

Churches dedicated to saints are listed in the form "St. <Name>" (note the dot). However, you don't need to put this in, as you can just put the saint's name (e.g. "John" will return "St. John the Baptist", "St. John the Evangelist" etc.).

The results page shows a summary of all the organisations that match your query. Click on the name of the organisation to see full details of that group.

All sorts of information is held on each organisation, including addresses and other contact information, times of services, office details, map references, parking and disabled facilities, plus a link to their web site if available.

You can click the map links to go to Streetmap.co.uk or Multimap.com and find the exact location of the premises.

Click on a contact's name for more details of how to contact them (where known), or send an email via the form. Please note we do not give out people's actual address here as an anti-spam precaution.

Officers/Contact Details

From the main organisation's entry, click on a contact's name to get more details (where available) for that person. You can also see all the groups to which they have an input.

Some people prefer to be contacted through the groups of which they are a part, so have not provided extra details here.

Sending an Email

From either the organisation's page or the Officers/Contact Details page, you can send an email where we know the address. Click "Send an email" to go to the form.

Please note that we do not publish actual email addresses here as an anti-spam measure, but the person you contact will be aware of this and that the email has come from the site.
